Logan practiced his swim stroke indoors today.

Diana and Pepper are the happiest couple we know with smiles and beauty that radiate sunshine.  Hosted at the Disney Concert Hall we enjoyed a lovely night with friends that date back to grade school.  Congratulations Dee and Pepper!

Our friend Maggie competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon for the first time this weekend and we showed up to support her race.  Congrats Maggie!

Maggie always has a smile, even after competing in the swim part of the triathlon!

This weekend we celebrated my friend Melissa who is due in a few weeks with her second baby boy.  Held at her Aunt’s historic home in Monrovia- a century-old home with original decor and old-fashioned hospitality- we enjoyed a relaxing and sunny day.  Melissa has a wonderfully-shaped pumpkin belly which is perfect because her garden is growing four bright orange pumpkins just in time for her own harvest.

Will Rogers is such a lovely place on a summer evening.

Belmont Shore

Posted in Logan

We headed to Belmont Shore today and enjoyed a beach my mom took us to as kids.  It’s perfect for Logan and Marlo and my niece Olivia because the water is warm, smooth and shallow.  Little did we know that since it was back-to-school for most school-tots, the beach had become a bikini sorority party.  Logan had a good time showing off his boogie boardin’ skills.

Morning Time

Posted in Logan

Every morning Logan waits patiently for Marlo to wake up.  The instant he hears her calling us he climbs into my bed and snuggles her to pieces.  She adores it and I can’t help but snap away because his affection for her is contagious.

Not bad eh? Pardon the morning eyewear.

Learning time while Marlo takes a brief morning nap

Marlo is almost 5 months old and is sharing in all the activities that her big brother enjoys.  She has her own fun too with her feet.

I think Marlo is longing for a braid like her Indian doll’s.

The Pool

Posted in Logan

Come on now, those of you that grew up in a small suburb know that you loved your community pool!  Diving into cold pool water, eating your bagged lunch on a wet beach towel, and your friends- that’s all that matters on a hot summer day.

These mischievious boys were hiding flip-flops and lunch bags in the bathroom stalls.  And maybe borrowing towels too because that one is not ours.

Logan likes reading to Marlo as long as he gets to select the books.  After a long day at the beach Miss Marlo enjoyed two good books.
