Halloween costumes are so much fun that it would be a shame to only wear them once. My sister and I took Logan and my niece Olivia to the old Oak tree for early costume photos and the kids had fun climbing and swinging from trees, jumping and spinning, and looking for bears. Miss Marlo was recovering from immunizations but she will be in costume soon!

Maybe this fairy was trying to turn her wolf into a pumpkin.
I am so in love with Logan’s first portrait drawing of Marlo that I had to do something fun with it. I’d say she is quite pleased with a little tee I embroidered for her.

Fall is lovely for so many reasons and freshly baked apple pie is one of them, especially when it’s made by your little guy in cooking class. Today I watched the kids enjoy apple pie preparation, carve their first initial into the crust, read a story and sing a song about apples and make large apple cut-outs (Ms. Dede did this without a template). Five beautiful pies were boxed up to take home for dessert. The kids loved it and now I’m off to gobble up some pie.

The kids thought that apple coring was quite silly.
Marlo loves pulling Logan’s books off of his shelf when he is away at school. Try as I may to put them back he always knows she’s been reading them. “Hey, that doesn’t go there little lady.”

Caught in the act

I can’t tell you how proud I am of Logan’s early morning drawing of Marlo. He titled it “Marlo at the Beach”.

Logan had his kind of day- sports day. He walked to his 9am basketball game then ran up the hill to his 10am soccer game. Don’t know which teams won as we had too much fun cheering him on. Then we spent the day with friends digging for clams at the beach.

Teamwork
It only rained for two days, but you would have thought that it had rained for months with the way that Logan greeted the beach and sunshine yesterday. He was so happy to be set free to run, jump and splash in the ocean.
Logan and I do lots of arts and crafts and gift-making but yesterday Logan’s art became all his own. He drew his first self-proclaimed “That’s me!” picture. He also drew a portrait of his friend Elsa. Fitting that these drawings were in the sand and I am so proud to have captured them with a cell-phone photograph.

Making little dress up clothes for Marlo is so much fun because she looks extra sweet wearing them.

This Great White female shark was caught off of Will Rogers Beach in August. She is on exhibit the Monterey Bay Aquarium and will eventually be returned to the wild. Apparently there were four others within 200 yards of the beach.
